TSORT(1) UNIX Programmer's Manual TSORT(1) NAME tsort - troff sort program SYNTAX tsort [file ... ] DESCRIPTION _t_r_o_f_f(1) produces phototypesetter ouput which is simulated on the Versatec by _v_c_a_t(1). _v_c_a_t cannot buffer up many typesetter commands before it must flush its Versatec buffer. Thus documents containing large backwards motions will be typeset wrong. Large backwards motions are produced by _e_q_n(1), multiple columning, and line drawing commands. Thus the need for _t_s_o_r_t, which sorts out all the reverse motions in a _t_r_o_f_f input stream. If no file arguments are given _t_s_o_r_t reads it's standard input. A typical usage is: troff -t files | tsort | vcat SEE ALSO troff(1), troff(5), eqn(1), vcat(1), Troff manual. DIAGNOSTICS Cannot open input file. Cannot alloc. BUGS _t_s_o_r_t has a limit of 12 inches of reverse line motion. Its troff code generator leaves something to be desired. AUTHOR University of California at San Francisco Printed 9/10/82 1
